Harwinton, Connecticut John Joseph Raytar 1942 — 2024 John Raytar, 81, of Harwinton, CT, beloved husband of Barbara (Sherwood) Raytar entered into the gates of Heaven on Friday May 24, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home. John was born in Bridgeport, CT on November 18, 1942. He was the son of the late John and Stella (Wozniak) Raytar. John served in the US Navy on the U.S.S. Thor. After an honorable discharge grom the US Navy, John began his career in the trucking industry. John retired from ABF Trucking in Waterbury, CT in 1992. John enjoyed playing golf with the senior league at Farview Farms Golf Course in Harwinton. He also enjoyed classic cars, having owned a few himself, and often attended local shows with his wife and family....
