goaltending by freshman Scott Cashman of Kanata Ontario backboned a potent Boston University attack that crushed Harvard 8 2 and gave the Ter riers their 15th Beanpot hockey championship last night at Boston Garden Joe Sacco Shawn McEachern and David Tomlinson had two goals each to pace BU (16 10 2) Defending champion Harvard perhaps weary after playing six games in 10 nights was completely outclassed In the consolation Boston College spotted Northeastern a three goal lead then roared back with seven unanswered goals for an 8 4 victory David Pergola and David Emma had two goals apiece to pace BC Two brilliant saves by Cashman thwarted Harvard in the early going Then the Terriers broke on top when Sacco parked in the slot on a power play took a perfect feed from Alex andre Legault and ripped a shot past Harvard goalie Allain Roy at 8:04 of the first period Phil von blast from just inside the blue line gave BU a 2 0 lead at 11:53 The dominant Terriers continued to pepper Roy and McEachern scored on a breakaway at 16:56 of the opening period for a 3 0 advan tage Sacco scored a second goal on a power play at 2:28 of the second period and then came the break that destroyed hopes Pressing a two man advantage the Crimson were caught up ice when BU iced the puck Roy came out to handle it but Tomlinson flicked it into an open net for a 5 0 lead After Mike Vukonich went in alone
